How Many Pairs?

Socks are relatively small things and they are fast becoming my go-to project when I'm struggling to find my next craft project.   I love the different yarns available and construction methods. Top down is my favoured approach - cuff, leg, heel flap, heel turn, gusset, foot, toe - with a kitchener stitch  finish and always on 4 double pointed needles! This year has produced seven pairs; all knitted in 4ply yarns on 2.25mm DPNs. Starry. Starry Night - this pair for my sister's birthday. A lovely sparkling yarn - West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply 906 Silent Night Sparkle. The pattern is Petty Harbour on Ravelry. Winter Walks Socks - these are for a dear friend on her lockdown daily walks in the Staffordshire countryside. A fairisle style yarn from Opal Bedtime Stories series, 9895 Grandma Lily and the Magic Broom. The pattern is a simple K3 P1 rib on the leg and top of the foot with a 1x1 rib on the turnover cuff.
